Our Schlagel closing wheels aggressively destroy the seed trench, creating excellent seed-to-soil contact for better seedling emergence and crop stand. These wheels not only prevent crusting and baking by leaving a protective layer of soft mulch over the seedbed but also guarantee that the seed trench remains securely closed. Utilizing a patented "horizontal rod" configuration and boasting a generous ground path, our closing wheels aggressively dismantle the seed trench, virtually eradicating any risk of smearing or extreme compaction. The closing wheels are mounted over a shaft on the tailpiece and are held on with left and right hand nuts. The original dust cap may be used with these wheels.
